The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Joanna Zalewska €15,930.32 in compensation after finding Blackstace Technologies Limited made unlawful wage deductions. The decision was dated 26 June 2025.

Zalewska said she was owed salary for February and March 2022. The WRC found she had worked during those months without pay and that the unpaid contractual salary was an unlawful deduction under the Payment of Wages Act 1991. The company did not appear or communicate during the proceedings.

Both complaints were upheld. The adjudicator found Irish law applied to the employment contract, which had no express choice of governing law; he concluded the Irish registered company through which Zalewska was engaged connected the contract to Irish law.
