The Workplace Relations Commission directed DSG Retail Ireland Limited to pay Patricia McAllister €1,412.30 after finding it failed to provide her with an updated employment contract. The decision was dated 15 May 2023. McAllister had moved into a new role in February 2020 but said she was never given a new contract. DSG accepted that it had not provided the updated contract required by law. The award was equivalent to two weeks’ pay and is not subject to statutory deductions. The WRC treated six duplicate claims on her first complaint form as withdrawn. Her representative withdrew two claims at the hearing, and three further claims were withdrawn as duplicates. The contract claim was the only one left for adjudication.
