The Workplace Relations Commission found Cathal Cummins’s complaint against the Irish Branch of Hamilton UK Services Limited was not well founded. The decision, dated 24 November 2022, concerned a discretionary bonus paid to staff on 25 February 2022. Cummins said he understood he qualified because he was still employed on the payment date. The WRC found that his contract and the staff handbook excluded a bonus when notice of termination was in effect. Cummins had given notice on 8 February, and the adjudicator found he was not entitled to the payment.
