The Workplace Relations Commission found Antonel Talpes’s complaints against DPD Ireland Tipperary Depot 24 not well founded in a decision dated 28 June 2023. Talpes, who worked as a driver from November 2021 to January 2022, complained about wages and holiday pay, employment terms, changes to his pay arrangements, working-time records, equal pay and minimum notice. He said he had been called a ‘stupid Romanian’. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The WRC said there was no supporting evidence for several complaints and found Talpes had less than the 13 weeks’ service required for minimum notice. All complaints were found not well founded.
