WRC dismisses Hassan Azzarouali’s complaints against National Pen

The Workplace Relations Commission found Hassan Azzarouali’s unfair dismissal complaint not well founded after he did not attend the hearing. The merits were not decided. The WRC also found his discrimination complaint was brought outside the time limit and was not well founded; the merits were not decided. The decision, dated 29 June 2023, concerned Azzarouali’s dismissal by National Pen Promotional Products Ltd on 25 January 2022 and his allegation of discrimination on or before 17 July 2020. The company said it dismissed him for gross misconduct and argued that the equality complaint was late.
