WRC recommends restoring cleaner’s triple-time public holiday overtime rate

The WRC recommended restoring a cleaner’s triple-time rate for public holiday overtime and backdating the pay difference for outstanding holidays worked from 1 August 2020. The recommendation was dated 16 November 2022. The officer found the rate had been reduced without the worker’s agreement. The officer did not recommend conceding the worker’s claims about a final written warning and bullying and harassment. The warning had been removed after 12 months, and the worker had not attended the appeal meetings or used the employer’s bullying and harassment procedure.
