WRC rejects accountant’s claim over professional-fee reimbursements

The Workplace Relations Commission found that SEI Investments - Global Fund Services Limited did not breach the Payment of Wages Act in its reimbursement of Abid Anwar’s accountancy subscription fees. The decision, dated 1 November 2022, said the dispute concerned the timing of reimbursement, which the company had not refused. Anwar said the fees were approved but reimbursed late. The company said it paid the fees after receiving receipts and that nothing remained outstanding when he left. The adjudicator found no breach of the legislation, and the claim failed.
