The Workplace Relations Commission found Raymond Murray’s redundancy complaint against Hynston Ltd All Plant not well founded. The decision was dated 28 September 2022. Murray said he remained on lay-off after Covid-related reductions in work and sought redundancy. The company said he had resigned after taking another job and returning his keys, and offered him his former role back. The adjudicator accepted the company’s account, finding Murray had resigned and declined the offer. The WRC also found he had not given the required written notice of his intention to claim redundancy and had not been dismissed by reason of redundancy. His appeal against the refusal of a redundancy payment failed.
