The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed an anonymous complainant’s disability discrimination complaint against An Garda Siochana, finding it misconceived. Adjudication Officer Valerie Murtagh dated the decision 6 July 2022.
The complainant alleged discrimination in the investigation of a crime at the complainant’s residence. The officer said a complainant seeking redress had to establish that they sought a service available to the public and were discriminated against on a stated ground. She concluded that the claim was misconceived and dismissed it under section 22 of the Equal Status Acts.
