The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found Joao Garcia’s unfair dismissal complaint was not well founded after he did not attend the hearing; the merits were not decided. The WRC dated its decision 30 September 2022. Keelings Logistics disputed that Garcia had been dismissed. Its representative attended and asked for the case to be struck out because Garcia did not appear. The adjudication officer found that a hearing notice had been sent to the email address Garcia provided and that he had not contacted the WRC to explain his absence, seek a postponement or withdraw the claim.
