The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Oic Cleaning to pay Tomasz Perkowski €1,057.69, one week’s wages, after upholding his complaint that he had not received a written statement of five core employment terms within five days of starting work. The decision was dated 14 July 2022. Perkowski worked as a Human Resources Manager from 26 July to 25 August 2021. Oic Cleaning said email exchanges before he started had given him the terms in writing and that it had met its obligations. The adjudication officer found that Perkowski knew the five terms from those emails, but said the employer should technically have issued a written statement. The WRC ordered payment within 42 days.
