Disability discrimination complaint against Parkside Childcare fails after complainant misses hearing

The Workplace Relations Commission found a disability discrimination complaint against Parkside Childcare not well founded after complainant Sweetie Luan Lindonde did not attend the hearing. The decision was dated 11 October 2022; the merits were not decided. Lindonde alleged discrimination on the disability ground under the Employment Equality Acts. The respondent and its representatives attended the hearing, and the adjudication officer was satisfied Lindonde had been informed of the date, time and place. With no appearance by Lindonde and no evidence to the contrary, the officer decided that the complaint was not well founded. The merits were not decided because she did not attend.
