The Workplace Relations Commission upheld Nicky Corrigan’s appeal against the non-payment of redundancy pay and recorded that Camrue Catering Ltd owed him €13,619. The decision was dated 22 July 2022.
Corrigan appealed after the business closed in March 2020 and did not reopen. The company conceded the claim. The calculation used gross pay of €614 and treated 15 March 2020, when he was laid off and began receiving Pandemic Unemployment Payment, as the redundancy date. The period he spent on the payment was excluded.
