The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Ok Consultancy Ltd. to pay former legal executive Gema Maria Bueno Lopez €4,500 in unpaid wages. The decision was dated 13 September 2022. Lopez worked for the company from 1 October 2020 to 28 May 2021 on a gross monthly salary of €2,250. She said she had not been paid for April and May 2021. The company did not dispute that €4,500 was owed, but said it could not afford to pay at the time. The WRC found the complaint under the Payment of Wages Act 1991 was well founded and ordered payment within 42 days. The claim concerned salary owed for the two unpaid months.
