The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Galway Mf Catering Ltd. to pay Pavol Marticek €1,454 after finding his complaint over unpaid annual leave well founded. The decision was dated 5 July 2022. Marticek said he worked for the company from 18 November 2020 to 6 June 2021 and had not received holiday pay. The respondent did not attend the hearing, so the adjudication officer relied on Marticek’s evidence that he worked an average of 46 hours a week without annual leave pay. The officer calculated the outstanding leave for his 29 weeks of employment under the rule allowing one-third of a working week for each qualifying month in the leave year.
