The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction over 29 employment complaints brought by Paul McDonnell against Intensive Community Programmes Liquidated. The decision was dated 14 June 2022; the merits were not decided. The complaints covered working time, wages, road transport working time, industrial relations and employment information. McDonnell said wages were often short and working-time rules were widely disregarded. The company’s official liquidator said he worked to address employees’ statutory entitlements, and McDonnell agreed he had received minimum notice, holiday pay, wage arrears and statutory redundancy. The adjudicator ruled that the first two complaints were filed outside the six-month limit and that McDonnell had not shown reasonable cause for the delay. The remaining complaints were filed beyond the applicable 12-month period. The decision said claims relating to July 2019 had already been dealt with by the liquidator.
