WRC dismisses Brigid Walsh’s wage complaint against PV Generation

The Workplace Relations Commission found that PV Generation Limited did not breach the Payment of Wages Act when it deducted money from Brigid Walsh’s deferred salary. The decision was dated 5 April 2022. Walsh said the company withheld salary deferred during a temporary 30% pay reduction. PV Generation said she had resigned without notice and that her contract allowed it to deduct the extra cost of covering her duties. The adjudication officer found that the contract expressly authorised the deduction and dismissed the complaint as not well founded.
