The Workplace Relations Commission found Geraldine Fitzmaurice’s Equal Status complaint about service at the Supermacs plaza in Kinnegad, County Westmeath, not well founded. The decision was dated 28 November 2022.
Fitzmaurice said she could not wear a face covering because of a disability and was told to leave. The WRC accepted she had a disability but found she had received service before the supervisor intervened and was then offered service through a drive-through or a hatch. It found no failure to provide reasonable accommodation. The officer also found that the supervisor acted professionally and that the alleged detriment preceded any protected act, so the harassment and victimisation complaints were not well founded.
