The Workplace Relations Commission awarded carpenter Jerzy Ziomka €2,849.80 net in compensation for unpaid wages and holiday pay from Kbk Contractors & Builders Ltd. The decision was dated 31 August 2021. Ziomka claimed €3,040 in unpaid wages and €1,120 in holiday pay. No representative of the company attended the hearing. The adjudication officer used payslips and the stated 39-hour basic week to calculate €2,426.80 net in wages due, adjusting the claim to account for the hours and pay shown. For holiday pay, the officer excluded overtime from the calculation and allowed three days’ net wages, finding €423 due. The Payment of Wages Act complaint was well founded, and the officer ordered the company to pay the combined €2,849.80 net in compensation.
