WRC finds Helena Humphries entitled to statutory redundancy payment

The Workplace Relations Commission found Helena Humphries entitled to statutory redundancy after O'Farrell Lynch Estates Limited told her it had no position for her. The decision was dated 28 July 2022. The adjudicator found Humphries’ work had ceased and that she had been dismissed by reason of redundancy. Her entitlement was calculated using a gross weekly wage of €529.04 and a termination date of 23 September 2020, including four weeks’ notice. The company did not attend the hearing, but the adjudicator was satisfied it had been notified and had an opportunity to present its case.
