The Workplace Relations Commission found Breda Kearns’s complaint over an unpaid increment was brought outside the time limit and was not well founded; the merits were not decided. The decision was dated 27 June 2022. Kearns, a Job Coach with WCSE Clg t/a EmployAbility Wexford, said she was due an increment from 1 July 2020 and sought about €2,300. The decision records the next increment on the scale as €2,108. The employer said funding did not allow it to award increments in 2020 or 2021. The WRC said the complaint was received outside the six-month limit. It found that correspondence between the parties did not prevent Kearns from making a timely complaint and that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the claim.
