WRC rejects disability discrimination complaint against technology company

The Workplace Relations Commission found that a technology company did not discriminate against a business development executive who said it failed to accommodate her disability. The decision was dated 11 July 2022. The executive said she requested reduced hours while recovering from health problems and that the company refused. The company did not attend the hearing or provide a written submission. The adjudication officer found that the evidence did not establish a disability under the Employment Equality Acts: the liver abscess had cleared, and no medical evidence of a disability had been provided to the company during her employment. The complaint was found not well founded.
