The Workplace Relations Commission found Roisin Weafer’s four complaints against the Irish Family Planning Association not well founded after she did not attend a hearing. The decision was dated 2 June 2022; the merits were not decided.
Weafer worked as a receptionist for the association from 14 November 2014 until her dismissal on 30 October 2020. The association attributed the dismissal to “persistent and unwarranted absenteeism”. Her complaints concerned wages, working time and employment equality. The respondent’s representatives, legal team and witnesses attended the hearing, and the adjudication officer was satisfied Weafer had been sent the hearing details by email.
