Aidan Daly wins statutory redundancy payment entitlement after starting new job

Aidan Daly is entitled to a statutory redundancy payment after the Workplace Relations Commission found that his position with Fastnet Recruitment Limited t/a The Talent Group had become redundant. The decision was dated 7 July 2021. Daly's contract was due to end in June 2020, and the company argued that he suffered no loss because he had secured another job with no break in employment. The adjudication officer found that the redundancy entitlement remained despite his new job. The payment is based on his employment from 1 July 2015 to 21 June 2020 and gross weekly pay of €1,000.
