WRC dismisses six complaints after worker misses hearing

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed six complaints by Desmond Doran against Assist Facilities Services Limited after he did not attend the hearing. In a decision dated 24 September 2021, the adjudication officer found the complaints were out of time and that there was no jurisdiction to investigate them. The complaints concerned holiday and public holiday pay, wages and overtime, and written terms of employment. The WRC found Doran had not attended to advance a reason for the delay. The complaints were out of time and the merits were not decided.
