The Workplace Relations Commission found that Michael Molumby was not unfairly dismissed after he resigned while an investigation into his grievance was still under way. The decision was dated 28 November 2022. Molumby worked as a quality control analyst for about 15 years. He said an interview with external consultants about data integrity felt like a targeted investigation and that he was offered amnesty to provide information about colleagues. Pinewood Health Care Laboratory said the consultants were carrying out an independent review of data integrity across its laboratories. The adjudicator found the audit necessary and professional, with no evidence of undue delay or bias in the grievance investigation. Molumby resigned before that process concluded and had not shown grounds justifying his resignation. The complaint was found not well founded.
