The WRC recommended that a worker and an employer follow a 2017 circular recognising agency service from 1 July 2017, without retrospective effect. The decision was dated 2 June 2022. The worker sought recognition of her agency service before the circular took effect. The employer said her earlier service had been considered in a salary-scale increase and the circular excluded retrospective recognition. The adjudicator found no reason to vary the agreement reached through negotiations between the employer and union.
