The Workplace Relations Commission found Padraig Kiernan's complaint against Allied Irish Banks PLC AIB was brought outside the time limit and refused an extension. In a decision dated 13 August 2021, it ended the case on that preliminary issue; the merits were not decided. Kiernan said he expected employer pension contributions and sought €23,322.30 plus investment return. AIB argued the complaint was late and said it had provided written employment terms and pension information. The adjudicator accepted that Kiernan had received those documents and found his reasons for waiting on internal procedures did not excuse the delay.
