A WRC adjudication officer found that the Department Of Agriculture Food And The Marine was entitled to deduct an alleged sick-pay overpayment from Timothy Harrington’s wages. The officer found his Payment of Wages Act complaint not well founded. The department said it was recovering €6,800.60 in overpayments under the applicable rules. Harrington said the deductions totalled €6,800 and argued the recovery should exclude sick leave he attributed to workplace issues. The decision was dated 20 August 2021.
