The Workplace Relations Commission found Julie Maughan’s complaint against Sports Direct was not well founded after she did not attend a hearing. The decision was dated 27 June 2022. Maughan alleged that she had been refused admission to a Sports Direct store because she was a member of the Traveller community. The respondent also did not attend the hearing. The WRC said it had sent Maughan notice of the hearing by email and, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, found the complaint not well founded; the merits were not decided.
