The Workplace Relations Commission found Ewelina Boral’s nationality discrimination complaint against the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection was not well founded. The decision, dated 3 July 2023, said her notification was outside the two-month time limit and that she had not established a basic case of discrimination.
Boral alleged the Department failed to provide translation services in connection with her jobseeker’s allowance application. The Department argued that her complaint was outside the statutory time limit.
The WRC found that the Department paid her €14,205 in jobseeker’s allowance arrears in September 2020. It found the complaint was brought outside the time limit and was not well founded; the merits were not decided.
