The Workplace Relations Commission found that Seamus Rigney was not discriminated against or harassed on grounds of age by Moss Bros Group Plc Moss Bros. The decision, dated 8 September 2022, also records that two other complaints were withdrawn after payments were made. Rigney alleged age discrimination in a restructuring and selection process and harassment while trialling an assistant town manager role. Moss Bros said the restructuring was driven by business needs and that Rigney did not reach the 90% score required for the town manager role. The adjudicator found he had not established that his selection scores related to age or that he was better qualified than the successful candidate. His redundancy complaint was withdrawn after the redundancy payment was made, and his minimum notice complaint was withdrawn after he received payment in lieu of notice.
