WRC finds genuine redundancy in Jeanette Taku’s failed claim

The WRC found a genuine redundancy situation existed and rejected Jeanette Taku’s unfair dismissal claim against New Communities Partnership Limited. The decision was dated 13 October 2021. Taku worked as a programme co-ordinator at the organisation’s Cork office, which closed after safety concerns arose at the premises. The adjudication officer found the premises were unfit for purpose and the organisation’s limited budget made a suitable replacement location unlikely.
