WRC finds Jovita Jocinaite entitled to redundancy lump sum after Ryanair base closure

The Workplace Relations Commission found Jovita Jocinaite entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after Ryanair Dac’s Kaunas base closed. The decision was dated 2 November 2021. Ryanair Dac proposed moving Jocinaite to its London Stansted base. The Adjudication Officer found the move unreasonable given her circumstances and ruled it was not a suitable alternative employment offer. The lump sum is based on her service from 1 September 2007 to 30 June 2020 and a gross weekly wage of €623, subject to her having been in insurable employment.
