The WRC directed EMI Restaurants Limited, in Liquidation to pay Maria De Los Angeles Puente €2,400 after finding her complaint about unpaid wages and related entitlements well founded. Adjudication Officer Catherine Byrne dated the decision 23 June 2021. Puente worked as a waitress at the company’s central Dublin restaurant from September 2019 to March 2020. The WRC found she was owed €2,563.80 in wages, holiday pay, public holiday pay, a Sunday allowance and pay in lieu of notice. The respondent did not attend the hearing. Its liquidator said payment under the Insolvency Payments Scheme had been held up because Puente had not supplied her bank details. The adjudicator said the liquidator could have contacted her to request them, and directed the company to pay €2,400 in net compensation.
