WRC awards Carla Nicoleta Prelicz €4,531.52 in redundancy pay

The WRC awarded Carla Nicoleta Prelicz €4,531.52 in statutory redundancy pay after upholding her claim against Noel Recruitment Industrial Limited. The decision was dated 12 May 2022. Prelicz worked continuously as a Quality Controller at SBE Logistics Ireland from March 2014 until July 2019, when she was told not to return because no work was available. She said four alternative roles were unsuitable because they were temporary, involved significantly longer travel, or included night shifts. The agency argued that she had refused alternative jobs and wanted redundancy pay. The adjudication officer found the four offers unsuitable and noted that no further offers followed. The officer said the agency remained obliged to discuss suitable alternative work meaningfully, but there was no evidence it had done so. The WRC ordered the agency to pay the statutory redundancy sum within 42 days.
