The WRC found John Guerin’s redundancy complaint well founded and held that he was entitled to a statutory redundancy payment, subject to confirmation that his employment was insurable for that purpose. WRC Adjudication Officer Peter O’Brien dated the decision 24 June 2021. Guerin was operations manager at Aerospace Parts Trading Ireland Ltd, where he worked from 2 October 2017 until 31 May 2020. The decision set his entitlement on the basis of two weeks’ pay per year or part-year, plus one week, using a gross weekly wage of €600 and reckonable service over that period.
