The Workplace Relations Commission found a transfer-of-undertakings complaint by cleaner Juris Akmentins against Compass Group Ireland was brought outside the time limit and was not well founded; the merits were not decided. It also found he was not discriminated against. The decision was dated 5 May 2022. Akmentins said Compass Group Ireland changed his working hours after taking over his employment and that he faced discrimination and victimisation over shift work and annual leave. The company argued the transfer complaint was out of time and denied discrimination. The WRC found the transfer took place in 2014, beyond the period for bringing a complaint. On discrimination, it found Akmentins had not established facts from which discrimination could be inferred.
