The Workplace Relations Commission found Edward Murphy was not unfairly dismissed by McMahon Concrete Products Ltd after he resigned from his labourer’s job at its Limerick concrete plant. The decision was dated 21 June 2022. Murphy said bullying and threatening behaviour left him no choice but to resign. The company said he resigned voluntarily and immediately took a better-paid job. The officer found no significant breach of contract, said Murphy’s safety concerns would have been addressed by the plant upgrades, and concluded there was no dismissal. His two duplicate complaints were withdrawn.
