The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to investigate Azzeddine Djellal’s age discrimination complaint against Motor Distributors Limited. The decision was dated 26 July 2021; the merits were not decided. Djellal had applied for a Dublin-based customer service role with a company in the Netherlands. He said he was asked to give his age and suspected it affected his application. Motor Distributors Limited said it was a separate company and had no involvement in recruitment. The WRC found the Dutch company controlled recruitment and was separate from the respondent.
