The WRC awarded a worker €1,500 after finding his employer required him to work an average 52.59-hour week, above the 48-hour limit. The decision was dated 17 June 2022. The employer said its records showed an average of 45.41 hours a week. The adjudication officer accepted the worker’s calculation, which excluded annual leave from the reference period. A separate complaint that he was not given 24 hours’ notice of overtime was not well founded. Three other complaints were withdrawn at the hearing.
