The Workplace Relations Commission awarded photographer Tristan Shiels €200 after finding that Magic Hammer Events Ltd. failed to facilitate work breaks during busy days at its seasonal Santa’s Grotto Experience. The decision was dated 10 November 2021. The WRC found the company had not shown that Shiels could take breaks or provided records about their availability. The terms and conditions complaint and the complaint about Sunday pay were not well founded; the WRC accepted that his €12 hourly rate included a Sunday premium. Two further complaints were withdrawn at the hearing.
