The Workplace Relations Commission found that a Lecturer’s complaint about being denied promotion to Senior Lecturer in Education was not well founded. The recommendation was dated 23 June 2021. The Lecturer said he was more qualified than the successful candidate and challenged the selection process. The University said the committee assessed candidates against its criteria and chose the person it considered most suitable. The successful candidate scored 84 out of 100, compared with 68 for the Lecturer, who ranked fourth among appointable candidates. The adjudication officer found no conflict of interest and no evidence to support the Lecturer’s allegations about procedural flaws. The officer concluded that the selection process was sound and correct.
