The WRC ordered Firgrove Service Station Ltd to pay Seval Pekoz €655.76 after finding it failed to provide her with a written statement of employment terms within the required period. The decision was dated 19 August 2021. Pekoz said she had not received a contract during her employment. The company said contracts were normally issued to new employees, but its proprietor could not recall giving her one. The officer found the document attributed to Pekoz was dated 18 June 2018, after the two-month deadline, and recorded a different start date from the one the officer accepted. The WRC found a continuing breach from 2 May 2018 until her employment ended and ordered compensation equal to two weeks’ gross pay. Pekoz’s request to add an unfair dismissal complaint was not accepted; the WRC decided only the written-terms complaint.
