The WRC awarded Anthony Kenny €25,000 after finding that Bord Na Mona Plc discriminated against him on the ground of age by refusing his request to work beyond 65. The decision was dated 1 October 2021.
Kenny had worked for the company since 1975. The WRC found the reasons given for the refusal did not justify the decision, and that the health and safety rationale was raised only after his appeal meeting. It said the award reflected the stress and financial loss he suffered.
