WRC recommends €2,000 settlement in Clerical Worker’s job-evaluation dispute

The WRC recommended that the Clerical Worker accept that the job-evaluation dispute was closed and that Disability Support Services offer her €2,000 in settlement. The recommendation was dated 19 July 2021. The worker said an initial evaluation upgraded her from Grade 4 to Grade 6, but that the employer intervened and the scheme reassessed her at Grade 5. Disability Support Services said both sides had sought Grade 5 and that the HSE had been contacted after the Grade 6 result was recognised as an error. The adjudication officer noted that the claimed error had not been confirmed in writing, and said this was unsatisfactory for the worker. The officer could not recommend an upgrade, noting that two colleagues did essentially the same work.
