The Workplace Relations Commission found that a security worker’s race discrimination, harassment, victimisation and equal pay complaints against a security company were not well founded. The decision was dated 13 June 2023. He alleged that he was denied a transfer and promotion because of his race and that a worker at another site doing the same job earned more. The company said it had offered him a transfer, and that differences in duties, clients and pay arrangements explained the pay gap. The adjudication officer found no evidence of discrimination or harassment in the relevant period, no evidence of a protected action for the victimisation complaint, and that the pay difference alone did not establish an equal pay complaint. Two further references duplicated the original complaints.
