WRC rejects Regatta store manager’s unfair dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Regatta Great Outdoors Ireland Limited did not unfairly dismiss store manager Daniel Mullen. The decision was dated 19 July 2021. Mullen said he intended to pay for four clothing items after returning from leave. Regatta said he left another store with the items without paying and had not followed its stock-transfer process. The WRC found that the investigation and disciplinary appeal followed fair procedures and that dismissal was a reasonable response to the circumstances.
