The WRC rejected Garry Simpson’s age discrimination complaint against Colaiste Pobail Setanta, finding that he had not established a prima facie case. Adjudication Officer Davnet O'Driscoll dated the decision 31 March 2021. Simpson said younger, less experienced teachers received roles he believed should have led to a contract of indefinite duration. The school said appointments reflected qualification and experience requirements. The officer noted Simpson was not registered as a maths teacher when the selection took place and found no specific evidence of discrimination in the interview or marking process, or evidence supporting his allegation of systemic discrimination.
