The Workplace Relations Commission rejected a coach driver’s claim for €4,825 in lost wages while he awaited a medical assessment. Adjudication Officer Caroline Browne dated the decision 20 June 2022. The driver said he was removed from the roster pending the assessment and was owed wages. The transport company said it had offered alternative bus-cleaning duties, which he stopped attending, and that he missed the scheduled assessment. The WRC found he had not made himself available for work under the revised arrangements and that outstanding payments had been discharged. His Payment of Wages Act claim failed.
